Shiho Yamaki was born in Sendai City, Japan and lives in Berlin, Germany.

 

She graduated from Souai University as a first-year student of bass clarinet.

She studied classical music through solo, chamber, and orchestra.

​

After graduation, while working as a musician, she became interested in improvisation and world music.

 

She has released three solo albums on ALM Records and one under the name Milfy Clarinet Ensemble.In 2019 she moved to Munich, Germany.

 

She enrolled in the Jazz Bass Clarinet Department  in a master’s program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. She moved to Berlin in 2021.  She is currently working as a freelance musician in Berlin.

 

Her goal is to establish bass clarinet music without being restricted by genres. To achieve this goal, she composes, arranges, makes original works, and performs with artists of various genres.
